At the beginning of this year, I became curious about fear and anxiety. There seemed to be so many of us suffering with fear and anxiety. I bought a few books and started doing some research. Then the pandemic hit, and I realized the world lives in fear. Our world revolves around fear.
A quick google search will tell us that fear is mentioned 365 times in the Bible. Wow! God knew we would struggle with this. The most repeated commandment in the Bible is “Do Not Fear.” But here we are living in fear.
Christians, are you living in fear?
I have had my fair share of fear and anxiety through the years. I know what it's like to have a panic attack and worry about breathing or how to get out of that moment. It was not until I started reading the Bible and praying consistently that fear started to subside. What is the saying “you are what you read?” What you put in, is what you get out. Listen, I am forgetful. I must be reminded every single day that there is an answer to all our problems. God is our only hope.
Here are my thoughts on life and fear:
If really bad things happen to me or my family or if I get sick and suffer, there is a scripture for that.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
I can expect troubles. I can expect really hard times. I expect bad things to happen to me. But you know what, I must have peace. I must trust that God will take care of me. He promises me that He can overcome anything. I must have 100% complete faith in Him.
What about the fear of death? If I die here on this Earth, there is a scripture for that.
Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24
Y’all, Heaven is going to be amazing!!! I cannot wait until we all get to Heaven. This world is only temporary. My future home is so much better! Death is nothing to be scared about if you know Jesus.
There are so many situations we deal with on this Earth. We all have problems, troubles, and secrets that Jesus knows all about. We must give up control and fear and He will give us peace. He is available to us. Every. Single. Day. Reach out to Him and give Him your worries, your fears, and your biggest problems. Read His word and listen when He speaks. You will find peace. It is there for us.
